Donation Helps Kids Enroll in Sports at Meadowdale High School

1st Security bank recently donated $500.00 to the Meadowdale High School Sports Booster Auction to support a two-for-one matching dollars scholarship campaign. The matched donation total of $1500.00 allows a number of families who finanancially qualify as low to moderate income  to enroll their kids in their favorite sports program(s).

The money helps provide low income families with sports participation fees, which have increased over the past decade and prevented some kids from playing their favorite sport. “With three kids who played high school sports, I understand the financial burden a family faces as school districts are forced to pass along more of the costs directly to the kids,” said Donn Costa, Executive Vice President at 1st Security Bank. “Being involved in sports helps teens build confidence, learn how to work with others and understand the commitment it takes to be successful in business and life. These are lifelong lessons that our bank wants to support.”

Contributions can still be made to the school for the two-for-one matching program and to help build a new workout area. For more information, contact MHS Booster President David Harvey, 206-650-0818 or
